CME is a media and entertainment company operating leading businesses in five Central and Eastern European markets: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. These operations include 30 television channels broadcasting to approximately 45 million people across our five markets. We develop and produce content for our television channels, and our content is also consumed through subscription- and advertising-based platforms online.
CME’s television networks enjoy leading audience shares generated largely from popular local content. Our leading channels also enable us to diversify our revenues from advertising to paid and subscription revenues, positioning the company as the industry trend setter in the region. Our success across the region is attributable to our strategy of producing and broadcasting high quality local programming and independent news, building multichannel networks and sharing knowledge and skills between our highly talented and locally managed teams.
CME manages its business on a geographical basis. This enables us to better execute our operating model of leading television networks so they are more responsive to local preferences. Our revenues are primarily generated through the sale of advertising on our 30 television channels through entering into agreements with advertisers, advertising agencies and sponsors to place advertising. We generate additional revenues by collecting fees from cable and DTH operators for carriage of our channels. We develop and produce content for our television channels, and our content is also consumed through subscription- and advertising-based platforms online.
